France is extremely popular amongst tourist and they saw a massive number of 76 million pass through their boarder in 2005. The next popular destination of Spain which is very popular with holiday makers looking to get some sun, sea and sand during the summer months saw 55 million tourist visit them in 2005. This was closely followed by the USA who welcomed 50 million tourist coming to visit a number of their famous States. China welcomed 47 million visitors, many of which who went to visit their famous Great Wall. In fifth place Italy saw 37 million tourist visit them in 2005.
The UK saw 30 million tourist in 2005, many of which head to the bright lights of the London's West End. Mexico saw 21 million tourist head to their country to get away from reality and enjoy their gorgeous hot weather and sandy beaches, Turkey not being far behind with 17 million tourist - however i can be said that they will probably have over taken a number of the countries above them in recent years due to a massive increase in holiday makers opting to spent their summer break there over other destinations due to the country being a lot cheaper as it isn't yet in the EU. After Turkey is Germany who had 20 million visitors in 2005 and the last country making it into the Top 10 in 2005 were Austria who saw 19 million tourists.
